BrainMirror™ is a new software program designed to build upon and further extend research, education, and client-related
work involving the brain and states of consciousness. It can be used in a range of practices including meditation, healing, therapy, counseling, personal exploration, the arts, sports, mind
and personal fitness. It is possible to see real-time spectral information, pause, resume, annotate and navigate back and forth through the records during
or after the sessions. A variety of display modes are selectable including a bispectral filtered EEG display. This is a design loosely based on the general principles described by Maxwell Cade. In
addition to this display, the system provides advanced features such as live event marking, trend plots,
splineinterpolated line plots, and 3-dimensional BrainScape tm displays selectable in a flexible and simple fashion. BrainMirror tm unique digital signal processing (DSP) methods show time as well as

DCN-128 VERSION 1.0-NORMATIVE DATABASE SOFTWARE
by John N. Demos author of Getting Started with Neurofeedback. DCN-128 ver.1.0 software creates topographical brain maps, graphs, coherence measures and therapy suggestions when used with BrainMaster’s MINIQ™ system. Results are calculated using reference data for adults (16 to 55 years old) and children (ages 6 ½ to 15 years old). Topographical brain maps using the MINIQ™ system are effective marketing tools when introducing prospective clients to neurofeedback. DCN-128 automatically prints 21 pages each of eyes closed and eyes open data. Data are filtered using the following bandwidths: delta, theta, alpha, SMR, beta, slow alpha (6-10 Hz) and fast alpha (10-14 Hz). Normative data are processed using peak-to-peak digital filtering not FFT. Consequently, you can compare baseline values with training values. DCN-128 flags temporal lobe muscle tension and eye -ocular artifact (Delta). Processing is automatic, no cutting and pasting required. Data are self-evident, maps are easy to read, print and interpret for both clinician and client. DCN software offers a snap shot for selective site locations and offers a reference data base. Z SCORE DLL Instantaneous Z Scores
Scientific Real-Time Neurofeedback Training
Applied Neuroscience, Inc. developed a “Dynamic Link Library” or dll based on the statistics of NeuroGuide for approved industry developers to use in their products. Z Scores provide an instantaneous measure of how the trainee's eeg compares with a normal population. Scores are based upon the EEG signal, the sensor locations, the age of the trainee, and whether eyes are open or closed. The dll provides real-time normative database comparisons for absolute power, power ratios, relative power, coherence, phase delays and amplitude differences. An example of a potential use of instantaneous statistical analyses of the EEG is in EEG Biofeedback where the moment-to-moment comparison to a reference normal group of subjects is computed in real-time. The idea is to use Z scores as a threshold and to reinforce Z = 0, or Z = + or - 1, or whatever Z score depending on the judgment of the qualified biofeedback specialist. The use of Z scores for biofeedback reduces the complexity of biofeedback of voltages and ratios and coherence, etc. to a single metric, the metric of a Z score (i.e., Z = (mean-subject)/ st. dev). No longer wonder if coherence should increase or decrease or phase delay should shorten or lengthen or absolute power should increase or decrease for a given scalp location or a given age. Released in 2006 by BrainMaster Technologies, Inc., instantaneous LIVE Z score biofeedback using the NeuroGuide dll. The Z Score provides, in real time, a total of 72 real-time values for 2 channels and 248 real-time values for 4 channels computed on a continuous basis, by the ANI Z DLL software. These calculations are performed more than 30 times per second and provide data useful for training as well as assessing th current condition of the trainee, via their normaltive EEG scores on any of the 72 or 248 components. 2 channel Live Z Score training for clinical or remote (home) training available. 4 channel Live Z Score assesses and instaneously trrains 6 pathways.
