Battery Use and System Care for 2E and 2EW modules |

The optimal schedule for using the BrainMaster is 8 hours on, 16 hours off (and charging), or thereabouts. It can actually run for 10 or 12 hours, then charge overnight, and work fine, year after year. A clinic should turn the module on in the morning, and leave it on all day. Then turn it off at the end of the day, to charge all night.
If someone forgets to turn the device off one night, it should still run the next day (a full charge will run over 30 hours), then go back to the routine. It should charge OK, since it actually can charge up twice as fast as it uses power. If a family uses the device only once every few days, for a single session, it is still good to turn it on that morning and let it stay on all day. Then charge it all night. The problem with running short sessions is that the batteries may learn to keep a "shallow" charge. This occurs if the unit is turned on for an hour, then turned off (and charging), and this is done repeatedly. If you must turn it on for an hour then off again, it is best to NOT connect the charger, until it has run for about 8 hours. So you could use it every day for one or two hours without charging it in between uses for a week, then charge it up over the weekend. |
