MFC error after pressing "Run the Next Session" |
|||||
When you get an MFC or other error, or nothing at all after pressing
Run the Next Session, it could be a number of things.
One possible fix is:
Open 2.5SE and run the Demo 1 folder for a minute or so, then
close 2.5SE and run 3.0. you shouldn't see the error any more.
If this does not work, see the following:
One way to pin it down is to run the master25.exe or master30.exe file
directly using Windows Explorer (or "My Computer/Local Disk C/brainm.20")
First run the main software so the Setup/Control Home screen is up.
Then, using "My Computer", go to Local Disk C then brainm.20.
Then find the file, either master25.exe (for 2.5) or master30.exe (for 3.0)
When you double-click on the file, it will try to run the training screen.
If something goes wrong, you will likely get a more detailed error
box. It may be a missing DLL
. Or it may say an entry point is missing
in a DLL. It may say nothing at all.
If it is a missing DLL, you need to take care of that (see the knowledge base).
If an entry point is missing, you have an old DLL. Often, it involves the
DLL for the ANI Z Score training. If you load 2.5, you get the old DLL.
If you load 3.0, you get the new DLL. We recommend always using 3.0
if you are doing Z score training, to avoid this scenario.
If nothing at all happens, you may be in a "killer" trainee folder. This is
very rare, but it is possible to get weird settings into a folder, so
when the training screen tries to run, something happens like
a "divide by zero" in which case the program crashes.
The first thing is to try to run the master program from the brainm.20
directory and see the message. That will send you to the needed fix.
I am not aware of any systematic problem with this, however. In
my knowledge, you have to be re-installing software or doing something
else unusual for this to happen.
I'll post this message in the knowledge base for future reference
.
Keep an eye on the knowledge base to see what troubleshooting
information we have online: www.brainm.com/kb
Best to all,
Tom

> How strange you ask; I had that happen a couple of days ago myself. And for a while I thought I had a serious problem; and re-starting the computer didn't seem to fix the problem. But then it seemed to "magicallly" fix itself and no longer have the error. > > Has anyone experienced the following error message when attempting to use Brainmaster software: "Master MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close." The "Run The Next Session" button will not activate to allow the software to run. All other buttons seem to be functional. |
